{{indexmenu_n>6}} [<6>] ====== What I want to accomplish ====== * Glue the offcuts and cut out the base. ====== What I've done ====== === Glue, clamps and ratchet straps === I cut up the remainder of the plywood board into four bits. I stacked them up together and sanded the edges so they were reasonably crisp. I should've spent a bit longer at this. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-124703.png}} The layout. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-124730.png}} Two pieces clamped and strapped. Those grey things are big rolls of lead flashing. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-124804.png}} Two sets of two pieces gluing together. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-124837.png}} Glue dry, rough circle marked. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-124853.png}} And routed! The first cut was 6mm too wide, so I moved the router in by 3mm and did another cut. It turned out 1.5mm too small, on a 762mm cut. I'm not too fussed about this. {{:projects:crokinole_board:work_logs:pasted:20190710-125037.png}} Now if I cut this up and flip the straight edges around... The end result is pretty good. Only the outer 2" of this piece will be visible so I'm not too fussed about the presentation. I wish I'd spent a little bit longer getting things crisp and lined up during gluing, because two of the bits of ply don't quite meet perfectly. They're off by about 0.5mm. This will sand out, but it could've been avoided. ====== What I want to accomplish next time ====== * Drill the hole in the centre of the top, * Attach the bands to the base. [<6>]
